MSc International Marketing and Business Development Outline

Marketing and business development go hand in hand, using innovation, creativity and agility to drive top-line growth in companies.

This program produces graduates who are able to create value internationally in diverse and often turbulent markets; graduates who will combine a broad awareness of the forces driving those markets as well as the ability to understand consumers.

The International Marketing & Business Development MSc challenges students with new ideas while emphasizing the application of those ideas to real business situations, thus preparing them for successful careers in the fast-moving global knowledge economy. To push growth in this new environment, marketing must cultivate innovation and entrepreneurship and be able to deal with the varied mass of data available for understanding markets and consumers - graduates of this MSc will be able to do just that.

The future challenges in international marketing are substantial: rapidly changing and diverse markets; a fragmenting media landscape; new channels, supports and approaches to marketing; constantly evolving consumer tastes and trends. This program will prepare students to face the tough but rewarding marketing world of tomorrow and enable them to develop the skills necessary for working in a multicultural, multi-channel environment.

This MSc provides solid grounding in Marketing with core courses on Strategy, Strategic Brand Management, Marketing Research, Marketing & Innovation, and Product Management. The specialized tracks enable students to have a more in-depth focus on their preferred sector: Services, B2B or Consumer Goods. A wide range of specialized electives means students can personalize the program and further their specialist knowledge in areas that suit personal interests and career plans.

Many of these courses are tied to companies based nearby; the action-learning projects and internships also enable students to establish contacts with local and international firms. Close partnerships with firms such as Procter & Gamble and Danone, who take part in the program advisory committee, help keep the program tuned in to the needs of companies and markets.

Why Choose This Program?

You will learn from international faculty with strong academic credentials as well as diverse professional experience. Classes are small enough to allow for close personal contacts with teachers and classmates. The highly international student composition on the program transforms projects and team work into precious multi-cultural learning experiences that develops skills that will be vital in a career in international marketing management. The teaching approach is applied and participatory: real projects with businesses are carried out so students are operational, employable ―often already employed― managers by the end of the year.

The three specialization tracks, the large number of electives on offer and the internship mean you can customize the program to suit yourself and your career in marketing.
On graduation, you will be able to: approach marketing with intelligence and creativity; manage uncertainty; make better marketing decisions by understanding consumer behavior; account for marketing budgets and return on marketing investments; analyze the profitability of customers and segments; generate profit in markets internationally; use analytics as a source of real competitive advantage; understand strategic brand and product management.

Your Future Career
