Admissions

Admissions requirements

Admission to the programme is based on a previously completed master degree (or equivalent). Applicants should be fully operational in written and spoken English.

Applications must be submitted by the end of May and the programme starts in September.

Assessment procedure

The applicants are assessed by a selection committee. On the basis of the committee’s assessment, the PhD programme director decides who should be accepted in the PhD programme. Decisions on who should be offered PhD scholarship(s)/assistantship(s) is determined by an external committee.

Assessment criteria

The assessment committee will assess whether the applicant seems capable of carrying out a research project. Accordingly, the CV and diploma/transcripts will be examined, and applicants with outstanding academic background and high potential research projects – for instance, on the basis of their master thesis – will be preferred (see the application procedure document). This is a full-time programme that requires regular presence on the Lille campus. Accordingly, we only admit students who expect to dedicate themselves to the programme full-time.

Thereafter, a reduced rate is charged. For the 2016/2017 academic year, the annual fee is €5,000 for EU students, €10,000 for students funded by companies and for non-EU students supported by a national grant.
