BSIS survey: SKEMA's financial impact measured at €400M

Published on 13 June 2016

Business School Impact Survey concludes SKEMA's financial impact in its campuses' territories totals €400M over the last three years.

SKEMA has committed to measure and publish its territorial impact every three years in the Business School Impact Survey (BSIS).

During 2015, information was gathered over several months. Experts began their visits on the Lille campus last October and finished in Paris in March 2016. The report has just been published with figures and conclusions for each of the five campuses.

The BSIS evaluation criteria and procedure were adapted for the school’s international model thanks to a partnership between the FNEGE and the EFMD (European Foundation for Management Development).

Experts travelled all over the world to audit and measure the local impact of SKEMA’s campuses. Our school is a special case, as it is implanted in five different territories on three continents (Brazil is too recent to have been included in the study). This worldwide presence gives many possibilities for regional and national development but is also complex to measure. Through its positioning, SKEMA’s impact can be measured on regional, national and international scales.

The BSIS experts recognised that:
  • the school has been quick to reach a level of national visibility that neither of the partners to the merger had been able to attain separately.

  • its success in various rankings and national and international accreditations has helped to consolidate SKEMA’s national image

  • its implantation abroad and the internationalisation of its French campuses have also strengthened its image in France

  • SKEMA has a solid recognition and a strong brand image in the country as a whole, and this of course increases its credibility in its local regions.

  • the SKEMA (group) constitutes almost €400M in terms of direct and indirect financial impact in the regions (€115M for the Nord pas de Calais, €96M for Ile de France, €129M for the Alpes Maritimes, 100M yuan for Suzhou, 20M USD for Raleigh).
