SKEMA Brazil campus: visit from French general consul

Published on 28 November 2017

November 6, for his first official trip in the state of Minas Gerais, Jean-Paul Guihaumé, general consul of France in Rio de Janeiro, with Manoel Bernardes (honorary consul of France at Belo Horizonte) and the new cultural and cooperation attaché, Philippe Makany (co-director of the Institut Français du Brésil for the state of Minas Gerais), wanted to meet SKEMA students on the Belo Horizonte campus.

Of course, the campus management team and the students gave the visitor an enthusiastic welcome. A drinks party closed this exceptional occasion and students asked many questions about current economic, diplomatic and institutional links between France and Brazil.

Jean-Paul Guihaumé studied finance and management at the École Supérieure de Commerce de Paris; he studied law at Paris University Panthéon-Sorbonne and international relations at the University of Keio Tokyo. He began his diplomatic career in 1993 as a specialist of the Far East / Pacific region, with Japanese as his specialist language. He was nominated “Consul Général de France” and “Directeur de la Maison de France” at Rio de Janeiro on 20 April 2017 and took up his new functions on 1 September 2017.
