SKEMA start up in top 100 to invest in: Challenges magazine

Published on 25 April 2018

Challenges magazine has published its list of "100 start-up companies to invest in in 2018" and its five finalists. Among these is Dartagnans, an alumni start up which is in the fintech category.

Dartagnans is the start-up that gives new life to heritage through crowdfunding and acquiring monuments and by selling cultural experiences that attract the public to places that are just waiting to come alive. The company was founded at the end of 2015 by Romain Delaume and Bastien Goullard, two SKEMA 2011 graduates.

Challenges recalls the start-up’s first feat which was the purchase of the Chateau de La Mothe-Chandeliers for 1.6 million euros. The chateau now belongs to 20 000 people spread throughout 115 countries (in only two months: a first and a world record!). The company which also offers consulting, is profitable with a turnover of 450 000 euros for 2017.

With ambitions worthy of the Three Musketeers, Bastien Goullard declares: “Our idea is to get inspiration from the National Trust in Britain that has five million members today and owns over 500 monuments” adding that “SKEMA provided us with a solid basis on which we have built up our collaboration.”
