AI Institute invites students to workshop, 19 October
SKEMA's AI research arm, the Artificial Intelligence Institute, stimulates interdisciplinary research in AI, business analytics, and data and information sciences in a variety of fields. On 19 October, several representatives of companies and research institutes are invited to discuss the implications of artificial intelligence in industry.
After an introduction by Davide la Torre, director of AI Institute, and Margherita Pagani, professor of artificial intelligence in marketing and associate dean of SKEMA AI School for Business, industry professionals will speak to the students at the KCenter of our Sophia Antipolis campus. Guillaume Roux and Amine Ait-Ouahmed, representatives of Instant System, a company that develops passenger information applications and solutions in collaboration with the transport authorities, are among the participants.
They will speak on the theme "AI and intermodality in smart cities". David Rouquié, head of the toxicology data science at Bayer, will speak on "On the way to 'Safety-by-Design' approach for chemicals by using AI". Marco Landi, former president of Apple and president of the EuropIA Institute, will conclude the session with a talk on "Risks and opportunities of AI". The industry talks will be chaired by SKEMA professor David Rey.
Round table in the afternoon
At the end of the day, Frédéric Ploix, sales director of MyDataModels, will take part in a round table discussion with Pierre-Alexis Le Borgne, head of research at Videtics, a company that markets intelligent surveillance solutions for protected areas, and Fabien Aili, director of identity verification and AI at Docaposte. The debates will be moderated by Frédéric Bossard, professor and a programme director at SKEMA.
