This case study describes the organizational transformations of the Inov’On group, created by Alexandre GERARD. Started as an innovative SME providing on-site hydraulic hose service (ex-Chronoflex) services, Inov’On has multiplied its activities and scope in the past few years. Nevertheless, Alexandre had to overcome several obstacles in his struggle to transform his group’s strategy, structure and culture. The case invites us to reflect on the limitations and possibilities of the “F-Form Company” (also known as “Liberating Leadership”) model from the point of view of organizational motivation, structural flexibility (organizational agility) and knowledge management for innovation.
