On 19 October, the Belo Horizonte campus, in partnership with the French-Brazilian Chambre de Commerce, organised the "Soirée à la Française", in the presence of the Honorary Consul of France in Belo and several SKEMA graduates. The aim of the event was to celebrate and strengthen the ties between Brazil and France.
The trade relationship between Brazil and France has existed for over 200 years and covers various economic sectors. Currently, around 900 French companies are active in Brazil, in a variety of fields including retail, cosmetics, automobiles, luxury goods, banking and pharmaceuticals, thanks to technology and defence. Geneviève Poulingue, Director of SKEMA Brazil, welcomed everyone with a speech underlining "the fundamental role of interpersonal relations, international links and corporate and institutional relations".
On the faculty side, Professor Dorival Guimarães, coordinator of the law programme on the Belo Horizonte campus, recalled the history of Brazil's international relations, highlighting existing partnerships, particularly with France. The meeting was also attended by the Honorary Consul of France in Belo Horizonte, Héloïse Delavenne Garcia.
The Junior-entreprise present
Students from SKEMA Consultoria Jr, the Brazilian subsidiary of SKEMA Conseil, took the floor to present their entity and stressed the importance of studying in a multicultural environment and having the opportunity to participate in networking moments, where they can establish new strategic connections.
