Year one programme structure​


This programme is structured over two years. During their first year, students join SKEMA Business School on any campus (apart from Lille and Suzhou). Whereas the second year courses are delivered in California.

UC BERKELEY AND UC BERKELEY EXTENSION’S CAMPUSES

The Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship & Technology is the premiere institution on the UC Berkeley campus for the study and practice of technology-centric entrepreneurship and innovation.

Fall (mid-August to mid-De​​​cember) 


Students will be introduced to the entrepreneurial ecosystem of the San Francisco Bay Area and Silicon Valley. The program
blends in-depth learning of leading technologies together with engineering students, with training in innovation  management, to develop a unique and effective entrepreneurial mindset and skillset.

Students learn venture finance and how to strategically choose investors and clients. They will build their team and design
their service or product prototype. Through intensive career development seminars and mentoring by entrepreneurship
experts, students will also learn how to overcome the challenges of early businesses. Students will have the unique opportunity to fully immerse themselves in Silicon Valley, learn from industry experts, ​​and meet influencers and colleagues at networking events, conferences, and panel events. Students can choose electives in various disciplines in order to specialise in an area relevant to their startup project.

  • Understand venture finance and how to build a financial plan for a scalable business model

  • Learn how to analyse the needs and behaviour of their target consumers

Spring (mid-January to mid-M​ay)


In this semester, students learn the latest growth hacking techniques to build a social media marketing strategy for their business. They will learn how to structure their business model, how to build a minimum viable product and how to take their product to market with a lean growth strategy. Students will also learn how to integrate leading technologies into their product and organisation and how to pitch their projects to clients and investors in Silicon Valley and San Francisco. Students will have the unique opportunity to fully immerse themselves in Silicon Valley, learn from industry experts, and meet influencers and colleagues at networking events, conferences, and panel events.

Students can choose electives in various disciplines in order to  specialis​e in an area relevant to their startup project.
