700 trees planted thanks to SKEMA students

Published on 12 September 2019

Since February 2019, the HOPE student association has been running the SKEMA on Ecosia initiative to encourage the students and employees of all seven SKEMA campuses to download the responsible research engine Ecosia. In the Ecosia on Campus movement, a tree is planted for every 40 search requests.

“Today, we are proud to announce that over 700 trees have been planted as a result of searches carried out by SKEMA students using the Ecosia search engine; this makes SKEMA the school that has planted the most number of trees, thanks to Ecosia in France,” said Elsa Curassier, chairwoman of HOPE Lille, brimming with delight. “We encourage you to download the free Ecosia browser extension via our link to make sure your searches are counted alongside ours: click here and plant trees every time you search for something.” she said.

Ecosia is a socially responsible search engine that donates 80% of its profits to a global reforestation programme. The #SKEMAonecosia initiative was launched by the HOPE association. Since then, 700 trees have been planted with the help of students.
