Executive MBA Shanghai residential week

Published on 01 December 2017

Read about the Executive MBA's residential week in Shanghai.

Executive MBA students, recently in Shanghai for their residential week, met with about 50 SKEMA alumni during a networking evening which took place in the Kartel lounge bar, founded and managed by one of our graduates.

Dr Patrice Houdayer, vice dean of the school, also participated at the event. The evening’s atmosphere was pleasant and productive, with guests enjoying meeting one another and having fruitful discussions.

In terms of academic content, the week focused on a supply chain management module, taught by Dr Xavier Brusset. Dr Lin Hua, academic director of the Suzhou campus, was also present. He had lectured participants about Chinese business practices a few days before (pictured). Originally from China, he has a PhD from Sciences Po Paris and has worked in high level positions in various companies in China, France and Japan.

The participants also visited Auchan’s and Decathlon’s premises in Shanghai, and met with the professional teams there who discussed various issues pertaining to supply chain. These meetings allowed for a specific Chinese business twist to the module. Beyond these exciting events, the week took place on Suzhou’s scenic campus, where our participants have been warmly and enthusiastically welcomed by the Chinese teams on campus.
