SKEMA gets Generation 2024 label

Published on 05 March 2021

SKEMA has received the "Generation 2024" label issued by the Ministry of National Education, Youth and Sports, and the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, in recognition of its commitment to the Paris 2024 dynamic as well as the excellent arrangements it provides to high level athletes.

Following the IOC’s choice of Paris as the host city for the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, France will be staging the Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The “Generation 2024” label for schools and universities aims to develop bridges between the academic world and the sports movement to encourage physical and sports practices in young people.

“The Generation 2024 label for schools and universities aims to develop bridges between the academic world and sports. It helps to strengthen the image and attractiveness of schools and energise their educational approach by mobilising local sports clubs and regional authorities around common projects,” says Tony Estanguet, president of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games Organising Committee.

Obtaining the Generation 2024 label demonstrates our commitment to the dynamics of Paris 2024 and the top-quality welcome given to the high-level athletes at SKEMA,” says Nathalie Sanchez, director of the Sport Department and referent of the SKEMA High-Level Sports Courses.
She points out that at SKEMA, sports “is a year-round matter: over 1,800 students are involved in a sports course all year or each semester, including 350 students who take part in competitions, supervised by 55 sports teachers, representing 27 individual or group sport disciplines.”

Between 2020-2021, more than 40 students will benefit from flexible timetables to accommodate their commitment to high-level sports, with seven already established on the international scene.

As we can see with athletes like Clément Lefert, Michal Izdinsky, Rouguy Diallo, Jocelyn Mutambayi, Clément Mignon, Romain Canonne, Loïc Bruni, and, very recently, Julia Pereira de Souza Mabileau, the SKEMA Sports Association provides tailor-made support for courses and assessments, which has proved its worth in the last four Olympics.Generation 2024 is integral to the dynamics introduced to the field of performance, health-related sports, equal opportunities and sustainable development,” says Ivan Coste-Manière, president of the SKEMA Sports Association, and professor and director of the MSc Luxury Fashion Management at SKEMA.
