Humanitarian society, Hope, helps out kids in Morocco

Published on 18 May 2017

Members of Hope, SKEMA’s multi-campus humanitarian association, spent a week helping at the Malaika Centre near Rabat, which houses and educates children with Down’s syndrome and motor neuron disease.

Fun educational activities, renovating the centre and distributing school supplies were on the programme in April.

The school has four classes. Children are divided by age, level and objective. The classes were small enough to be able to take care of the children properly – no more than 12 per class. The week was spent with different activities with the children, such as singing, dancing and puzzles as well as repainting the classrooms and a little ceremony where the team distributed school supplies collected during the foot4school event, and toys brought by our generous students.

One of the centre’s educators underlined his thanks to the students, saying they had "Brought a new breath of life to the school and a new source of motivation for themselves and the children".

The Hope team is very proud to have managed to carry out this project and lived this unforgettable experience.

The students would like to thank the Malaïka centre warmly for their hospitality and all the sponsors without whom nothing would have been possible: SKEMA, Castorama, Carrefour, La Madrague, Equivalenza, Colorado, Optimum Conseil, Nice-Matin and the Antibes Red Cross.
