LinkedIn and SKEMA join forces to reduce professional network disparities

Published on 01 December 2021

In June, SKEMA Business School became among the first business schools to be part of LinkedIn’s "A Network for All” alliance. This new initiative, headed by Talent & Careers, seeks to reduce professional network disparities and promote greater equality in employment.

When used effectively, LinkedIn is a powerful tool that helps people find jobs quickly, while developing a professional network and the opportunities that go with it. The LinkedIn Alliance provides workshop webinars that help people add new contacts to their networks by significantly optimising their use of LinkedIn. In this respect, it could be useful for students seeking jobs or work-study programmes in conjunction with SKEMA's Talent & Careers team.

Major partner companies

Several big French companies are part of the "A Network for All" Alliance, including Engie, L'Oréal, Crédit Agricole, Mazars and Michelin. In the community sphere, "Live For Good", the association chaired and co-founded by Jean-Philippe Courtois to help young people launch their own positive-impact start-ups, is also involved in the programme.

Looking for mentors

While the workshops are open to job seekers, the programme is also aimed at those already in the workforce who could use their experience to provide volunteer support to unemployed people. LinkedIn is organising several sessions based on networking awareness for people willing to help at least one person outside their network. The next session is at 4pm on 30 November.

Register for the next LinkedIn live for job seekers, open to students scheduled on 29 November.
