Michaela Merk: new MSc Global Luxury Management director

Michaela Merk, a well-known specialist of marketing and luxury brands, speaker and professor, has joined SKEMA.

She is professor of marketing and will direct the SKEMA’s MSc Global Luxury Management in a double diploma with North Carolina State University. This programme is given on two of the school’s campuses Paris and Raleigh in the US.


Michaela Merk has a PhD and is a recognised specialist of international luxury brands. She has held managerial positions in l’Oréal Luxe, Marionnaud/AS Watson and Estée Lauder, and has also been a consultant for top managers and conducted training seminars.

The international agency of Speakers Excellence considers her to be one of their best trainers in Europe. She has written many publications including “Luxury Sales Force Management: Strategies for winning over your brand ambassadors”, edited in 2014 by Palgrave Macmillan.

Until now, she was the director Merk Vision & Partners, her consulting and training firm in marketing and luxury management for luxury brands in fashion and cosmetics in France and abroad.

MSc Global Luxury Management is a programme in English designed as a double diploma with Poole College of Management and Poole College of Textiles of North Carolina State University. It takes place on both SKEMA campuses in Paris and Raleigh in the United States. The programme gives students the opportunity to experience a multicultural international environment with prestigious speakers and professionals from the biggest names in luxury fashion: Chanel, Dior, Louis Vuitton, Guerlain, Ralph Lauren etc.
