Professor publishes The Irreverent Handbook of Economics

Emmanuel Combe is a SKEMA Business School professor and vice-president of the Competition Authority (Autorité de la Concurrence). His latest work, "Petit manuel (irrévérencieux) d’économie”/The Irreverent Handbook of Economics, has just been published.

This handbook of economics walks us through untrodden territory and takes the time to stop and look at sometimes innocent looking current topics, decoding them from an economist’s viewpoint. This unusual angle unveils commonly held truths and invites us to think, allowing us to become familiar with economic reasoning in spite of ourselves – or even against our wishes.

The Irreverent Handbook of Economics deserves its title. Its approach to economics is a modest one that is refreshing in its practicality and brilliance. This book is for all readers, helping to understand the basics of economics with a built-in feel good factor, explains Xavier Niel, founder and vice-president of the Iliad Group.

“This new book by Emmanuel Combe will be very successful with students but also with practitioners and policy makers. The book gives a concrete touch that is important, even though a little provocative – but it is highly intelligent and effective. A highly recommended read,” commented Alice Guilhon, director of SKEMA.

This book is written in French. You can get it on Amazon here.
