Accompanied by the top management team of Value Retail in China, students not only learned about the business methods and management experience of Value Retail but were also able to have discussions with the leaders of this famous company.
Suzhou Village is one of the 11 Bicester series shopping villages. Located on the western shore of the Yangcheng Lake Peninsula in historic Suzhou, it's home to a mix of international and Asian fashion and lifestyle brands and one of the most famous outlets in the whole of China.
During the visit, the senior management team of Value Retail China was present, including: Jason Mei, HR operations director; Catherine Edme, retail director; Mike Cheng, retail operations director of Suzhou Village; Kei Chan, marketing director; Lillian Cheng, associate commercial director. They discussed with students their business values and the secrets of success of Value Retail: "Win together" is one of the core ideas of Value Retail. Here in the Bicester series shopping villages, they are not only a place for shopping and consumption, but also a place for family vacations and leisure. The shopping village in each destination will be designed in accordance with the local architectural style, various cultural interactions and art exhibitions will be held in the local area, so that guests can enjoy a different pleasure every time they visit.
SKEMA students also followed the company's leaders to tour the entire Suzhou Village in order to learn the business and management methods used in stores.
At the end of the visit, Value Retail provided internship positions to SKEMA students, showing their enthusiasm for, and high expectations of, SKEMA students. Students were very keen about working for the company.
