Skema Conseil expands its 'junior entreprise' activity to China

Published on 08 April 2019

The SKEMA Conseil group – SKEMA Business School’s ‘Junior-Entreprise’ present at the school’s three campuses in France, has decided to expand its international reach by involving SKEMA’s campuses abroad. This semester, SKEMA Conseil officially launched at SKEMA’s Suzhou campus in China.

As a former president of SKEMA Conseil Nice from 2017 to 2018, Alexandra Burla, the founder and new president of SKEMA Conseil Suzhou, felt inspired by the project straight away and took up the new challenge readily. The new student association, comprising 12 members, is counting on her experience and management skills.

All the members of her team are keen on developing and implementing strategic projects in China. They are working towards launching their first event before the end of the semester with the invaluable support of the campus’ management team.

It is essential that all SKEMA students at the Suzhou campus receive the opportunity to benefit from our events. Additionally, we would like to have more Chinese students in the association next semester because we truly believe that the experience could be interesting for them and they have a lot to offer,” said Anya Ben Mansour, vice president of SKEMA Conseil Suzhou.

This semester, SKEMA Conseil Suzhou has three key projects:
- To establish ties with businesses in China to be able to organise conferences and training sessions for students. This is an ideal way to develop their knowledge, skills and network.
- To help students gain a better understanding and knowledge of the market in which local and global companies operate by supplying them with information presented in different formats (bimonthly newsletter, podcasts, etc.).
- To help local entrepreneurs who often do not have the means to pay for advice from an agency, which is an important step in the development of a business. SKEMA Conseil Suzhou will be able to provide this advice thanks to the professional experience and academic knowledge of its students.

The association has begun making its mark in Suzhou. It is keen on taking things to the next stage with the ultimate aim of delivering professional advice to professionals and students.
