US campus: SKEMA Ventures' Startup Kafe

Published on 04 February 2020

January 28, the Raleigh campus's SKEMA Ventures held its Startup Kafe at the HQ Centennial/North Carolina State University E-Garage with over 30 attendees including guests, faculty and students.

SKEMA Ventures' Startup Kafe is a stimulating entrepreneurial happy hour that aims to help students test their business ideas with two-minute business pitches in a casual and friendly atmosphere.

With 16 presentations, pitches ranged from personal products, commercial ideas and social entrepreneurship.

During the break, SKEMA students were joined by some of NC State's entrepreneurship ambassadors who added diversity to the group and expanded the energetic networking by our entrepreneurially-minded students

One of the highlights of the evening was a short presentation delivered remotely via Skype by Deonte Holden, a SKEMA Ventures alumnus in Miami. Deonte provided an update on his venture, Gaveen fashion streetwear and answered questions from the students at the Kafe. The evening was hosted by SKEMA Ventures and the SKEMA Ventures Club of Raleigh.
