SKEMA's a founding member of the Artificial Intelligence Interdisciplinary Institute (Institut Interdisciplinaire d’Intelligence Artificielle) - 3IA Côte d’Azur.
The other primary partners of UCA – CNRS, Inria, Inserm, EURECOM and MINES ParisTech – will also work on the project.
From the outset, SKEMA will be involved in all aspects of education and training for 3IA Côte d’Azur, and in the creation of startups, thanks to the expertise of SKEMA Ventures. The new Global Lab in Augmented Intelligence, led by Prof. Thierry Warin, will be involved in the scientific aspects of the 3IA project.
The new institute will focus on applications for health and territorial development with four major scientific themes:
- Fundamental AI: statistics, machine and deep learning
- AI for computational medicine
- Computational biology and bio-inspired AI
- AI and smart, secure territories
The project is supported by the CEA, CHU de Nice, CSTB, CNES and Data Science Tech Institute, as well as over 60 regional companies including Accenture, Amadeus, ARM, Blu Manta, Doriane, inHEART, NXP, Renault, SAP, Thales and Therapixel, and local authorities, particularly the Communauté d’Agglomération Sophia Antipolis. The €16M budget of subsidies exceeds the €13.5M initially envisaged.
3IA Côte d’Azur will be located at the Sophia Tech campus in the heart of Europe’s leading science and technology park, Sophia Antipolis.
