SKEMA Ventures intensive entrepreneur bootstrap seminar

Published on 04 December 2018

Two "bootstrap" days gave student entrepreneurs tools to understand the issues and challenges of starting a business, explore the concept of entrepreneurial spirit, take the first steps in creating a value proposition and come up with the key components of the business model.

SKEMA Business School held two “bootstrap days” from 2pm on Monday 26 November to 2pm on Wednesday 28 November, in partnership with Incubateur PACA-Est. These bootstrap days are open to all students from SKEMA and the Université Côte d’Azur (UCA).

This entrepreneur seminar allows participants to understand the issues and challenges of entrepreneurship, explore the concept of entrepreneurial spirit and the first steps in creating a value proposition, to come up with the key components of the business model that will support this proposition and to write a business plan summarising these elements.

Intended for student entrepreneurs who have an innovative idea, but who want to have a concrete understanding of the challenges facing entrepreneurship before deciding to turn this idea into a company, these two days of knowledge transfer and iterative practice will enable students to formulate and present the first version of their business model to an audience of professionals.

These professionals represent a large majority of the support network for business creation in the Alpes-Maritimes where the Sophia Antipolis campus is located. In particular, business incubators (PACA Est, Le Village by CA, CEEI), entrepreneur funders (Réseau Entreprendre, Angel Bay Invest, Sophia Business Angels) and BPI, SAAT Sud-Est and entrepreneur alumni will be in attendance. This seminar is therefore a unique opportunity for project leaders to benefit from the feedback of people who have collectively supported several hundred business creation projects. Our young creators will thus take away advice and an action plan from the experience that will help them optimise the launch of their business.
