SKEMA Ventures startup launches loudspeaker crowdfunding

Published on 26 November 2020

French Acoustics, a startup straight out of the SKEMA Ventures incubator, specialising in the design and marketing of high-end, made-in-France loudspeakers, is launching its crowdfunding campaign on the Ulule platform .

From Monday 2nd November, when the second lockdown was announced, they were betting on the launch of Proton, the most powerful compact loudspeaker in its category.

For French Acoustics, everything started with the Startup Kafé, at SKEMA, of October 2019 in Sophia Antipolis (Startup Kafés are also held in Lille, Paris, Raleigh, Suzhou and Belo Horizonte). Timothée Caron, a Master in Management student, came to pitch a project in front of SKEMA students and students from PolyTech Nice. It was during this evening that he met Florian Campredon and Damien Virgiglio, students at PolyTech Nice, who also came to pitch their portable loudspeaker project. Following this annual event organised by SKEMA Ventures, they have now joined forces to create French Acoustics.

The fusion of technological and commercial skills is an essential element to increase the chances of success of any entrepreneurial project.

After an official launch on social networks last March, French Acoustics is now on a promising path. This year the young startup won the BPI Prize, organised by Pépite PACA Est, at the student entrepreneurs' evening at the VarUp trade fair. It was also a candidate for the SKEMA Social Ventures Awards, where it took fourth place on the podium. The aim of the Social Ventures Awards competition is to highlight, and provide financial support for, projects with a positive social and environmental impact. These two awards are the result of a year of intense work.
