SKEMA Ventures' Startup Kafe in China (Suzhou)

Published on 30 April 2019

The whole local entrepreneurship ecosystem comprising entrepreneurs, international students, graduates, teachers, potential investors and partners, representatives of local authorities, media and local incubators actively participated in the event.

SKEMA Ventures’ Startup Kafe event on 4 April at SKEMA’s Suzhou campus in China proved to be a demonstration of students’ dynamic entrepreneurial spirit where they showcased their innovative projects. Watch the video.

Startup Kafe events give students the opportunity to test their entrepreneurial ideas at SKEMA’s campus in France, China, the USA and Brazil. They are required to give a two-minute pitch in French or English.

A music head-rest for travellers, a new phone charging model for shopping areas in Europe with the importation of chargers made in China, a social platform and service for foreigners in China, organisation and optimisation of large-scale conference activities, a new extracurricular maths tutoring model for primary and secondary students… the students’ presentations impressed everyone at the event.

Another highlight of the event was the announcement of a new entrepreneurship and innovation programme for the spring 2019 session by Professor Yong Yang from Dushu Lake Entrepreneurship University.
