Student honoured by the Center for Leadership, Ethics and Public Service of NC State

Published on 09 June 2017

The Center for Student Leadership, Ethics and Public Service of NC State University recently honoured Luana Furlanetto, a SKEMA student in the MSc International Business on the Raleigh campus.

Luanna recently obtained her VLC, (Visionary Leader Certificate). She also received the Ronald C. Butler Visionary Leader Award (“recognizes one Visionary Leadership Certificate programme graduate for their outstanding commitment to their own leadership development”).

Each year, NC State awards this "Visionary Leader Certificate" (VLC) to students who have followed a complete series of workshops on leadership development offered by the university’s Center for Student Leadership, Ethics and Public Service (CSLEPS).

The students have a maximum of two academic years to complete the VLC by participating in 12 workshops on the theme of leadership and personal development. They also have to carry out 20 hours of voluntary work, take up one leadership position and submit a portfolio. This is a personal reflection on each workshop, on the leadership experience and the voluntary work: in other words, how these experiences contributed to personal development and leadership. The portfolio is approved by the members of CSLEPS.

Luana Furlanetto (MSc International Business, 2017) is the third SKEMA student to obtain this certificate after Pauline Gane (M1 PGE, 2015) and Salomé Froment (MSc International Business, 2016).
