MSc Financial Markets visits European Central Bank in Frankfurt

Published on 27 March 2019

MSc Financial Markets and Investments students visited the European Central Bank (ECB) recently. The trip was organised by Tarek Amyuni, programme director in Sophia, who drew on his network of professional and academic colleagues in the financial centre of Frankfurt.

Thanks to Nicollo Bonetti, who graduated from SKEMA in 2018, the students received a personal invitation from the ECB. Their schedule included private tours of all areas of the ECB and a seminar organised especially for them by an Italian economist on governance and capital market regulation and governance by the ECB.

Prof. Amyuni also organised a dinner with six SKEMA alumni working in different banks in Frankfurt, which gave the students the chance to learn from the experiences and receive some seasoned advice from their seniors.

The trip also provided Prof. Amyuni the opportunity to take part – along with a 2016 graduate working at CommerzBank – in the recruitment of a student who had his interview as soon as he got off the plane! On the academic side, Prof. Amyuni reactivated SKEMA’s partnership with Frankfurt School of Finance. “Exchanges might take place for students in the first year of their master's degree, which would form an excellent basis for being admitted to a master’s in finance in the second year of their master’s degree,” he explained.
