In the midst of the other students, you would hardly notice him. With a concentrated look on his face and his eyes focused on the computer screen, Romain is a student (almost) like any other. One has to see him in his white polo shirt with the Olympic rings on it, and the journalists around him, to be able to guess that this student is special. And for a good reason: last July, he became the first French fencer to become an individual Olympic champion since Brice Guyart in 2004 – a feat as unexpected as it is extraordinary.
A concerned and focused student
In addition to his sporting achievements, Romain is doing well as a student. Currently studying the MSc Auditing, Management Accounting & Information Systems programme, the 24-year-old is working on the research paper he has to write for the end of his course. For this, he can count on the sound advice of Kirsty Paoli, the programme director!
