Two SKEMA students awarded an American research grant

Published on 07 January 2021

Marie Goraguer Janga and Marek Raïri are SKEMA Grande Ecole programme students undertaking their final year of study for the MSc Corporate Financial Management on the Belo Horizonte campus (Brazil). They are recipients of the very selective “Fall 2020 GARP Research Fellowship” grant.

SKEMA’s partnership with the Global Association of Risk Professionals - GARP enabled our students to apply to a call for research projects. Their work is titled “Structured Green Products:  A sustainable and efficient way to hedge portfolios and maximize returns” – a complex subject requiring the development of real expertise and for which they were awarded the $3,000 GARP Research Fellowship grant.

GARP supports original research projects that are deemed relevant to the global risk management community. Every year, its grant programme supports up to six recipients for their articles and applied research work.

We‘d like to congratulate Marie and Marek on this fantastic success as well as all the pedagogical team involved in the MSc Corporate Financial Management and, in particular, professor Alexandre Aronne, who helped the students with this project, and of course Monica Carvalho, director of the MSc Corporate Financial Management on SKEMA’s Brazilian campus,” said Geneviève Poulingue, campus director.

We’re delighted to see the relationship with this SKEMA Business School master’s programme go from strength to strength and to provide our support for future financial risk management leaders in this way. Thanks to this grant, GARP continues to build a solid risk management culture and develop the skills of students all over the world,” said Lisa S. Ponti, vice-president - Educational Outreach - GARP.
