MSc Entrepreneurship and Innovation (Big Data and Artificial Intelligence Management) Opening Ceremony

The MSc Entrepreneurship and Innovation (Big Data and Artificial Intelligence Management) programme jointly-managed by SKEMA and Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU), a member of C9 league (top nine universities in China), officially welcomed its first class.

​On November 14th, the opening ceremony of this first class took place in Le Royal Méridien Shanghai.

The 38 students were welcomed by Séverine Boué, Education Attachée of the French Consulate in Shanghai, Matthieu Dumont, SKEMA China campus director, Hua Lin, Academic director of SKEMA China, Professor Jitong Shu, director of international programmes of XJTU, Lina Zhang, representative of Shanghai research institute of XJTU attended in the ceremony together with 38 students. 


Alice Guilhon, dean of SKEMA Business School, Gengzhong Feng, dean of the School of Management of XJTU, Patrice Houdayer, Vice-dean of SKEMA, Christophe Dispas, Associate Dean of SKEMA, Nicolas Servel, MSc EI director of SKEMA, Jade Yang, SKEMA China Recruitment and admissions manager participated in the ceremony online.

The successful launch of this joint programme is the fruit of long term cooperation between our two institutions: SKEMA, the pioneer in entrepreneurial education with its MSc in Entrepreneurship & Innovation, and its global SKEMA Ventures offer, and XJTU, the leading teaching and research institution in AI & Big Data.“said Alice Guilhon, dean of SKEMA Business School.

Gengzhong Feng, dean of the School of Management of XJTU, addressed that “with digital transformation and market changes, more opportunities and challenges will emerge in the future and the students will have opportunity to make outstanding achievements in the future“.

Patrice Houdayer, vice dean of SKEMA, also pointed out that the rapid development of the times and the increasingly diversified world economy not only highlight challenges but also bring great opportunities to entrepreneurs. This joint programme has gathered the best resources of SKEMA and XJTU. He hopes that students can maximize the use of course resources and keep improving themselves during their learning journey.

“Although this year is so challenging, we are here today to start a new school life. Therefore, we need to thank SKEMA Business School and Xi’an Jiaotong University who have made a lot of efforts to facilitate the start of the programme.”  Explaind Xun Fang, a new student representative of the 2020 MSc Shanghai class and senior IT director of Zai Lab, expressed his thanks to the schools. He believes that the study at MSc EI (Big Data and Artificial Intelligence Management)will help students to make a difference in the future.  He hopes that through this project, students can gain more knowledge and help their company develop new business paths and win success in the end.

According to the Education Attachée of the French Consulate in Shanghai Séverine Boué, this new programme is significant in the market since coming from 2 of the best academic institutions in China and France, and is one of the few joint programmes approved by the Chinese Ministry of Education in 2020.

The MSc EI (Big Data and Artificial Intelligence Management) aims to train future elites and industry leaders in the fields of entrepreneurship and innovation with a focus on big data and artificial intelligence. 
This joint program is open to applicants with L3 to M2 level. At the end of the 2 years of study, the student receives the diploma of SKEMA (MSc) and that of the Chinese Ministry of Education.
