Recent graduate talks about his marketing role in Dublin

Published on 23 November 2021

Charles Van de Voorde (SKEMA 2019), a graduate of the Master in Management, Grande Ecole programme who specialised with the MSc International Marketing & Business Development in his final year, has taken his career to Dublin and is working for a recruitment agency as a marketing and communications executive.

Charles, tell us a little about yourself…
I’m 27 years old and originally from Lille. I’m a graduate of the  Master in Management, Grande Ecole programme and marketing and communications executive for Approach People Recruitment in Dublin, Ireland. SKEMA Business School is a family affair since before me my father, Christophe Van de Voorde, also graduated from SKEMA Lille (class of 1987). I joined SKEMA for an M1 programme in 2015 on the strength of my academic qualifications, after completing a two-year undergraduate diploma (DUT TC) in marketing, rounded off with an internship in Canada, then a third year of undergraduate study (LP CAI) in the United States. I have a passion for photography and travel. Thanks to SKEMA, I was able to combine study and pleasure by gaining an internationally recognised qualification while travelling to the four corners of the world (Suzhou campus in China and Belo Horizonte in Brazil).

Could you tell us about your professional journey since SKEMA and, more importantly, about your current role?
After obtaining my degree from SKEMA, I immediately started to look for work experience overseas. I got the opportunity to discover expatriation at a rather young age and after a very international academic path I wanted to continue down that road.
