Mission
SKEMA has created the "SKEMA Transitions" programme to accelerate the integration of the principles of sustainable development and responsible management into all of the school's activities. It also aims to train committed professionalscapable of being part of a dynamic of transformation.
The mission of SKEMA Transitions is to accelerate and intensify, in close partnership with all stakeholders, the integration of the principles of sustainable development and responsible management at SKEMA Business School and in all the activities of the school: at the level of governance, in our programmes, our research, the operation of our campuses and our partnerships.
Principles: the 3D Plan
SKEMA Business School's commitments and objectives in terms of environmental, social and societal transitions are detailed in a plan titled "3D". SKEMA Transitions is responsible for implementing and monitoring this plan. This plan is structured around three major dimensions — Diversity, Decarbonisation, and Digital (& Data) for Good — and is broken down into four areas of action: our training and education, our research, our community, and our campuses and ecosystems.
Each dimension of this plan is associated with commitments and objectives for 2024-2030.
Governance
The Advisory Committee
The SKEMA Transitions Advisory Committee has three main objectives:
- To help SKEMA identify the skills required by our graduates to face transitions and their challenges.
- To guide SKEMA in the implementation of its research and societal impact policy and the deployment of sustainable development and responsible management issues in teaching and learning.
- To question the orientations and projects of SKEMA Transitions.
It will also ensure that the members:
- Are recognised academic experts in sustainability holding teaching and research positions in international institutions.
- Hold management positions related to sustainability and corporate social responsibility, business development, human resources, and talent development for international companies.
The Sustainability Committee
The SKEMA Transitions Sustainability Committee meets four times a year and brings together all internal stakeholders, students, and staff to monitor progress in implementing SKEMA's SD&RS policy and to propose and prioritise projects. Committee members report back to the community.
Transitions Teams
At the operational level, SKEMA Transitions sets up and coordinates collaborative, multi-campus working groups, called Transitions Teams, in accordance with the proposals selected and reviewed by the Sustainability Commitee . Leaders and members of the Transitions Teams are students, staff, and faculty.
The Accreditation, Quality & CSR department
SKEMA Transitions is placed under the responsibility of the Accreditation, Quality and CSR Department - a member of the Executive Committee. Bringing together Sustainable Development and Quality makes sense, given the transversal and systemic dimension of socio-ecological transitions, and ensures that the interests of all internal and external stakeholders are considered in relation to SKEMA's strategy. The fundamental principle of continuous improvement adds a valuable temporal dimension to the management of transitions and the pursuit of societal objectives.
