Talent Barometer 2024

Chameleon generation: young talent on the front lines of the generative AI era

A SKEMA Business School x EY study, conducted in collaboration with Opinionway.

Did you know that:

  • 8 out of 10 students say they are interested in Generative AI tools
  • 64% of students believe they will use AI in their first job
  • 59% would be interested in a job requiring the use of Generative AI

Generation Z, balanced young talent?

Generation Z, often perceived as elusive, represents a dynamic force with constantly evolving aspirations and behaviours. This generation demonstrates remarkable adaptability in the face of an uncertain future, while actively seeking meaning in their personal and professional lives. Young people in this generation embrace new technologies, particularly AI and Generative AI, and are helping to shape their use in the professional world. They are also engaged in societal issues such as inclusion, diversity and corporate responsibility, while remaining true to their convictions. Seeking a balance between concerns and opportunities, this generation offers a fascinating glimpse of the future in transition. It is crucial to keep an eye on these younger generations, as they have a lot to teach us about the world to come.

In partnership with EY, SKEMA Business School once again wanted to find out about the expectations of young talent. For this 2nd edition of the Talent Barometer, we conducted a survey of a panel of more than 1,100 students, currently studying at SKEMA and other universities, in order to gain a better understanding of their aspirations and requirements with regard to their future employer, and in particular their relationship with Generative Artificial Intelligence.

The highlights of this study will certainly require real attention from companies.
