The SKEMA community is gearing up to organise Transitions Week on its campuses from 11 to 16 March. This week, dedicated to sustainable development, starts on Monday, 11 March, with an opening speech by Isabelle Jauny, director of SKEMA Transitions, broadcast across all campuses, marking the official launch of the activities. This introduction will present the full agenda for the week and highlight the crucial importance of individual and collective commitment to ecological transition. "Since its launch in March 2022, SKEMA Transitions has hosted and promoted the commitment and initiatives of all stakeholders in terms of sustainable development and responsible management," explains Isabelle Jauny, director of SKEMA Transitions.
SKEMA Impact Career Fair
Throughout the week, students are invited to the online SKEMA Impact Career Fair, held from 11 to 15 March 2024. This event, carefully orchestrated by the Talent & Careers team in collaboration with the SKEMA Alumni Transition Club, is a unique opportunity for students of all courses to discover a range of internships, work-study programmes, and job offers directly related to environmental values and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects.
This forum highlights companies committed to social and ecological impact, thus allowing students to steer their careers towards meaningful paths and align their professional aspirations with their personal convictions.
Responsible eating
The Responsible Eating Transitions Teams on each campus are also active. On Monday, 11 March, an online conference from 11:45 am to 12:15 pm will focus on bio-waste and the obligations arising from the Anti-Waste Law for a circular economy. On 11 and 12 March, in Lille and Sophia Antipolis, awareness stands on waste management and responsible eating will be set up, with the participation of local partners and associations committed to promoting more conscious and sustainable consumption. On Thursday, 14 March, the Grand Market will be held in Paris, followed by an event on the rooftop around the garden with Cultures in Cities.
Two conferences on ecological transition
The SKEMA Alumni Transitions Club is organising two conferences on the Grand Paris campus: on 11 March, from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm, featuring Fabrice Bonnifet, a leading figure in corporate sustainable development (director of sustainable development & QSE at Bouygues Group and president of the College of Sustainable Development Directors, C3D). The conference's theme is "How to effectively integrate planetary boundaries into the models of sustainable and desirable companies of tomorrow?" and will be followed by a Q&A session. On 14 March, from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm, you can attend a conference on "Climate changes: How will it affect your career?" led by Daphné Dumoutet and Paul Tamet, volunteers from the Shift Project.
Faculty and Research
As part of the Transitions Week event, a challenge titled "The Week" will take place on the Grand Paris campus, offering three dynamic 1.5-hour sessions for master's students in project and programme management, but also open to all students. These sessions will be held on Monday, 11 March, from 4:45 pm to 6:15 pm, just before the opening speech of transitions week, then on Wednesday from 11:30 am to 1 pm, and on Thursday from 9:45 am to 11:45 am. An option for online participation will be available for those unable to attend physically.
Moreover, on Thursday, 14 March, from 12 pm to 1:30 pm, a conference in English on "AI research for climate change and environmental sustainability" will be led by the SKEMA Centre for Artificial Intelligence (SCAI), directed by Margherita Pagani. The main theme of this meeting is the impact of artificial intelligence on environmental sustainability. Professor Claire Monteleoni (director of research at INRIA Paris) and Boris Ruf (senior data scientist at AXA) will also participate. This conference, open to all, will also bring together companies specialising in AI and sustainable development.

Student associations mobilised
This Transitions Week is primarily the result of the work of our HOPE association, which coordinated all the actions proposed by student associations during this week. In Sophia Antipolis, on 13 March, from 1 pm to 4 pm, a stand for calculating ecological footprint will be organised by the ENACTUS association and HOPE, highlighting the importance of individual awareness about environmental issues.
On the Lille campus, an evening dedicated to raising awareness about mental disabilities is planned for Tuesday, 12 March, with a conference by the Perceneige association. In addition, the campuses will be animated by association forums, offering practical workshops and conferences on various topics such as eco-anxiety management, or making seed paper, with the active participation of associations such as Crocus and Poppies, Esperanza, and Cheer'Up.
