Among all my studies, this year was by far the best and the most exciting one. I had an engineering background and had worked for a year in IT in the banking industry before the MSc. I really wanted to learn about finance so I started to look for a challenging MSc which would be a springboard for starting a career in Front Office. That is exactly what I found with the MSc Financial Markets & Investments at SKEMA. I learned from talented professionals who were accessible to us out of class too. Tarek Amyuni was a great MSc director, he gave dedicated follow-up to each of us and was at the same time a very capable teacher of very important concepts. I studied a complete range of courses about financial markets, which helped me to get ready for job interviews. With the Bloomberg Room, we were able to jump easily from theory to practice, always focusing on learning to get ready for the floor! At the end of the programme, I moved to Amsterdam to work as a junior trader at Optiver, a leading proprietary trading firm.
