About the campus

Sophia Antipolis is located in an exceptional 2400-hectare park, between sea and mountains. Based on a concept inspired by American technology parks, it combines excellent working and living conditions. It includes parts of the towns of Antibes, Biot, Mougins, Valbonne and Vallauris and has almost one million inhabitants.

SKEMA’s five-hectare, state-of–the-art Sophia Antipolis campus fits harmoniously with its environment. The campus offers co-working areas. These spaces are a reflection of the science park that provides quality of life and respect for the environment.

Sophia Antipolis technology park
The first technology park in Europe

Sophia Antipolis, located on the Côte d’Azur, is the largest and first technology park in France and Europe, founded in 1969 by Pierre Laffitte.
Recognised today as a leading hub of technological innovation, the technology park houses 2,500 companies, 40,000 jobs, around 5,500 students, and 4,500 researchers of more than sixty different nationalities.

Sophia Antipolis was designed as a place of cutting-edge technology to meet the current and future challenges.
Its identity is digital and based today on artificial intelligence and key areas such as biotechnology, cyber security, yachting, Blue Tech, or even the autonomous and connected vehicle.

Around 20km from the international airport in Nice, Sophia Antipolis is a protected site of 2,400 hectares, located between the sea and the mountains.

Nearby places​

Nice is located around 32km from the Sophia Antipolis campus (30 minutes by car). Creative, dynamic and cosmopolitan, it has a university and several business districts. Located on the shores of the Mediterranean, in the heart of a region of timeless beauty, it is both a coastal and mountain resort that cultivates the charm of its originality and contrasts.

Cannes is one of the global capitals for business and leisure tourism. It also boasts an extraordinary natural setting as well as a long tradition of welcoming visitors, successfully combining professional skills and technical infrastructure to make the city a trusted and attractive destination. The main business tourism city after Paris, it has built its reputation on top-end amenities that make it a competitive destination for some of the biggest international events.

Monaco is situated around 20km from Nice. It is one of the world's most renowned hubs for finance, luxury, and entrepreneurship, and hosts several prestigious events such as the ​Formula 1 Grand Prix, the Monte Carlo Tennis Masters, Monaco Yacht Show, the Monte Carlo Rally, and the Red Cross Gala, among others. Monaco's economy is very dynamic and oriented towards the future.​​

Saint Tropez holds significant cultural and economic importance as a renowned luxury destination on the French Riviera. Its glamorous reputation, beautiful beaches, and vibrant nightlife make it a symbol of prestige and leisure, contributing to the region's tourism industry and serving as a hub for high-end fashion, gastronomy, and entertainment.

Accommodation

SKEMA Business School assists its current and future students in searching for accommodation via the Studapart online Housing platform, where various offers are posted. It is one of the key resources for finding accommodation.

University residences

Students who would like to live in a university residence in the Sophia Antipolis area can make a request a few months before the start of the school year. The details are mentioned below. You can also refer to our housing brochure for more information.

Please note that students may need a guarantor – a person or an organisation that will guarantee the payment of the rent and bills in case of default on your part. Their financial resources must correspond to at least three times the amount of the rent.


SKEMA's Sophia Antipolis campus also has its own residence.

CROUS

The mission of CROUS (Regional Centres of University and Academic Services) is to assist in improving students' lives and work conditions. Apartments in university residences are usually managed by CROUS and are the cheapest lodging option. The CROUS of Nice Toulon manages 4 900 places for accommodation, ranging from furnished rooms to three-room flats in 18 different student residences (2 in Sophia Antipolis). They are allocated according to an applicant's social criteria (parents' income, distance, and so on). For the academic year 2020/2021, the application should be submitted online between May 5th, and June 22nd 2020. Complementary admissions are made during summer and at the beginning of the school year based on remaining places.
