Overview

Skemafrica was founded in 2021 with the aim of promoting African culture and business. The association brings together ambitious and dynamic students who share a common vision of Africa: a rapidly emerging continent, rich in resources, deserving of renewed recognition, and whose development must be driven by the next generation. Present on two campuses, Paris and Lille, Skemafrica has nearly 60 members.

Impact

SKEMAFRICA acts as a bridge between Africa and the students of SKEMA Business School. This recent association aligns with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 17.
By fostering intercultural understanding and cooperation, SKEMAFRICA contributes to enhancing the means of implementation and revitalizing the global partnership for sustainable development.

Keys events

Lille

  • The AfroHappening, a must-attend event, celebrates African musical and artistic diversity through an immersive evening featuring Afro, Amapiano, and other iconic African sounds.
  • Ginger Night, held several times a year on the Paris campus, in collaboration with other schools.
  • On a professional level, our conferences and masterclasses on various themes, such as the evolution of the media landscape in Africa or personal development, provide a space for discussion with experts in the field.
  • Furthermore, our commitment extends beyond the academic sphere with the Bilone Project, an initiative led by our former president, Émilie Ndjé, aimed at rehabilitating a primary school in Cameroon to improve learning conditions for students.
  • Finally, our major annual event, Africa Week, embodies this desire to promote the continent's richness by combining cultural activities and intellectual debates. This week culminates in a forum bringing together students and professionals, creating a true bridge between Africa and the academic and business worlds.

Paris

  • The Ginger Night: A multicultural party featuring top DJs for an Afro-Caribbean atmosphere, organized in partnership with other Paris-based business schools.
  • Cultural Conferences: Talks with experts to explore the challenges and prospects of the African continent.
  • SKAF Week: A week of cultural events organized in collaboration with other SKEMA associations, including buffets, debates, quizzes, and film screenings.
  • Professional Experiences: Networking and personal development opportunities for students interested in Africa.
