DEMUR – Understanding the macroeconomic effects of uncertainty
The DEMUR project investigates how uncertainty shapes economic decisions and macroeconomic dynamics. It seeks to understand how households, firms, and policymakers respond to uncertainty shocks and how these responses affect economic activity.
Advancing our understanding of uncertainty and its impact on the economy
DEMUR is a research project dedicated to understanding the role of uncertainty in economic decision-making and macroeconomic fluctuations.
The project combines advanced econometric methods with newly developed indicators to analyse how different sources of uncertainty—including financial uncertainty, geopolitical tensions, and commodity price volatility—are transmitted through the economy and affect market stability.
By improving the measurement and forecasting of uncertainty, DEMUR contributes to more accurate economic forecasts and provides valuable insights for designing effective public policies and economic strategies.
