In Belo Horizonte, SKEMA mobilises its community around sustainability challenges
This initiative combined practical actions with strategic reflection on environmental responsibility, social impact and the low-carbon economy.
From 9 to 13 March, the campus in Belo Horizonte hosted Transitions Week, with a series of initiatives designed to raise awareness and engage the academic community on issues at the heart of today’s agenda.
On campus, the student association Recicla Club led an interactive activity focused on responsible waste management, encouraging the adoption of sustainable practices in daily life. As part of the initiative, participants received keyrings made from recycled PET bottle caps, reflecting the principles of the circular economy.
The programme also featured the talk “The Low Carbon Economy: Markets, Trade and Investment”, delivered by Fábio Marques. The session explored how the transition to a low-carbon economy is reshaping global markets, international trade and investment strategies.
Beyond the week itself, the initiative reflects SKEMA’s commitment to preparing students to understand and navigate sustainability transitions, with a clear focus on real-world challenges and global dynamics.
