Davide La Torre receives Springer Nature Editorial Contribution Award 2025

Davide La Torre, Full Professor of Applied Mathematics and Artificial Intelligence at SKEMA and UniCA (Université Côte d’Azur), has been awarded the Springer Nature Editorial Contribution Award 2025 for his work as Associate Editor of Scientific Reports (Nature Portfolio, Springer).

This important recognition highlights his rigorous editorial contribution to one of the world’s most cited open-access Nature Portfolio scientific journals.

Scientific Reports publishes original research from across all areas of the natural sciences, psychology, medicine and engineering. The award commends his “meticulous assessment of submissions and rigorous management of the peer review process, safeguarding the scientific accuracy of the published record”.

Professor Davide La Torre is a distinguished mathematician, holding a PhD in Computational Mathematics and Operations Research from the University of Milan and an HDR (Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches) in Applied Mathematics from Université Côte d’Azur. His research interests span applied mathematics, artificial intelligence, image analysis, mathematical economics and finance, mathematical biology and medicine, optimisation and control.

He is affiliated with several academic institutions in France and Italy, including the European Institute of Oncology in Milan and the Doctoral Schools of the Universities of Milan and Insubria. He has held visiting and permanent academic positions across Europe, Canada, the Middle East, Central Asia and Australia, and has served in senior academic leadership roles.
