Margherita Pagani to discuss the global governance of emerging technologies at AOM 2026
Margherita Pagani, Professor of Human-Centred Artificial Intelligence and Digital Marketing at SKEMA Business School, will take part in the 86th Academy of Management Annual Meeting, held in Philadelphia from 31 July to 4 August 2026.
Director of the SKEMA Centre for Artificial Intelligence (SCAI), Margherita Pagani will join the symposium “Innovation and Governance of Emerging Technologies: A Global Perspective” as a panelist on 4 August. The discussion will examine how artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies are reshaping innovation, and how governance frameworks can respond to their development.
Organised by Huiyi Litan from Renmin University of China and Stefan Haefliger from the Stockholm School of Economics, the panel will also bring together Rafael Alcadipani from FGV EAESP, Tony W. Tong from the University of Colorado Boulder and Ke Rong from Tsinghua University.
“Artificial Intelligence and emerging technologies can no longer be governed one platform or one jurisdiction at a time. They are interconnected ecosystems shaped by firms, platform orchestrators, regulators and communities. Effective governance must therefore be multi-level and global—supporting innovation while addressing interoperability, data rights and ownership, cybersecurity and accountability across borders” says Margherita Pagani.
The Academy of Management Annual Meeting is one of the world’s largest gatherings of researchers in management and organisation studies.
