Podcast “MAKES SENSE?”: alumni join the adventure for season 2
Launched in June 2023, SKEMA Business School’s podcast “MAKES SENSE?” has established itself as an original and respected format, blending academic expertise with pop culture. Films, series, superheroes, works of art and social trends have become tools for exploring management, law, finance and marketing.
Since its launch, 19 professors have featured on the podcast, attracting a loyal audience: more than 45,000 listens (an average of 2,500 per episode), with growth accelerating threefold year on year thanks to strong organic performance and successful media campaigns, including a partnership with Konbini for the Small Talks podcast. The show has struck a particular chord with its core audience aged 28 to 34.
Visibility has also followed, with nearly 10 million impressions generated on social media. This success has been recognised with two national awards:
- 2023: Silver Award at the Grand Prix Stratégies for editorial communication.
- 2024: 2nd place at the Grand Prix de la Créativité Podcast (Paris Podcast Festival Pro, “best podcast in education and training” category).
A new momentum for season 2
In September 2025, “MAKES SENSE?” returns for its second season with an enriched format. After giving the floor to professors, the podcast will now welcome alumni to share their experiences and insights on major societal issues. Another new feature: the podcast adopts a two-part structure. The first half is devoted to an interview with the guest, followed by a science segment narrated by hosts Kevin Erkeletyan and Mary-Jane Michaelides, offering academic analysis and research-based insights.
Season 2, Episode 1: Candice Gauch, Barbie and the question of talent
For its 20th episode, “MAKES SENSE?” welcomes Candice Gauch (SKEMA 2022), consultant at PwC, graduate of the Master in Management (PGE) and the MSc International Strategy & Influence. Crowned Miss Paris, she will compete on 20 September in the Miss Île-de-France contest, the final step before the Miss France pageant in December. Around the theme “Barbie: is beauty a talent?”, Candice Gauch explores how beauty is represented, its influence in society, and its link with self-confidence, performance and professional success.
