SKEMA honoured at Sino-French Gala in Shanghai for Innovation and Partnership
Céline Gobeill, Executive Vice President of SKEMA Business School, received the Sino-French Innovation and Partnership Award at the annual CCI FRANCE CHINE Gala, held in Shanghai in May 2025. The event celebrated Franco-Chinese collaboration under the theme "A Shared Horizon: France & China Innovating Together.”
Gathering over 900 influential guests from business, diplomacy, and culture, the Gala spotlighted pioneering partnerships that drive bilateral innovation.
This award is a testament to the strength of our partnership with Xi’an Jiaotong University and the dedication of our teams on both sides.
SKEMA’s recognition underscores its leadership in transnational education, particularly through its strategic collaboration with Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU), a Chinese C9 league university.
A Milestone for SKEMA’s Joint Master’s Programme
At the heart of this collaboration lies the joint Master of Science in Entrepreneurship & Innovation (Big Data & AI Management), co-organised by SKEMA and XJTU. Approved by the Chinese Ministry of Education, the programme has already graduated 300 students. In a significant milestone this year, the Ministry granted approval to double the programme’s annual intake from 60 to 120 students—further solidifying its impact and reach.
"This award is a testament to the strength of our partnership with Xi’an Jiaotong University and the dedication of our teams on both sides. It reflects SKEMA’s commitment to building a truly global model of education—one that bridges cultures, industries, and innovation ecosystems,” said Matthieu Dumont, Director of SKEMA China.
Celebrating Excellence in Franco-Chinese Collaboration
The evening was marked by high-level engagement and institutional support. Guests were honoured by remarks from Mr. Rémi Paul, President of CCI FRANCE CHINE, and H.E. Mr. Bertrand Lortholary, Ambassador of France to China.
The event also welcomed Anne Genetet, former French Minister of Education; Joan Valadou, Consul General of France in Shanghai; Christian Gianella, Minister Councilor and Head of the Regional Economic Service at the French Embassy in China; and representatives from Business France, including Pascal Gondrand and Xavier Chatte-Ruols—reflecting the deep commitment of both nations to fostering innovation and academic cooperation.
This award not only celebrates SKEMA’s longstanding commitment to academic excellence and innovation but also highlights its role in strengthening Franco-Chinese educational ties. As Mrs. Gobeill received the honour, SKEMA reaffirmed its dedication to fostering global talent and shaping the future of international higher education.
