In Garoua, northern Cameroon, a digital training centre is set to open thanks to the initiative of Élisée Nlemba, a student in the Mastère Spécialisé® Manager of Projects and Programmes at SKEMA Business School. Backed by the school and developed through the association HUMANI’SPHERE, which he co-founded, the project aims to train young people – particularly young women – in high-demand digital skills.

President and co-founder of HUMANI’SPHERE, Élisée Nlemba has been working for several years to improve access to education in vulnerable regions. Established in 2023, the association leads concrete actions across France and Africa, with more than 11 impactful projects to date: the distribution of school textbooks, environmental awareness campaigns, support for orphans, and guidance for young people in rural areas. “Garoua Digital Academy is more than just a training centre – it’s a tool for empowerment and social transformation. As a student at SKEMA, I see every day how quality education can change the course of a life,” says Élisée Nlemba.

A partnership aligned with SKEMA’s values

The official signing of a partnership with SKEMA marks a new milestone. Garoua Digital Academy, located in the city of Garoua, will offer training in digital professions such as programming, graphic design, project management and entrepreneurship. A strong focus will be placed on empowering young women, in a region where educational barriers remain significant.

SKEMA commits to classroom renovation

With financial backing of €15,000, SKEMA is supporting the full renovation of a classroom and its equipment with cutting-edge digital tools. This partnership reflects the school’s values of inclusion, positive impact, and global outlook. It also embodies SKEMA’s 3D strategic plan and its Digital for Good priority, which aims to harness digital technology as a force for societal transformation.

“This partnership reflects our commitment to acting beyond the walls of our campuses, by supporting projects that carry hope and impact. Through Garoua Digital Academy, we are helping to open new horizons for a youth full of potential,” says Alice Guilhon, Dean and Executive President of SKEMA Business School.
