The world is changing. So is SKEMA.
Studying in different countries. Working alongside students from around the globe. Moving from one campus to another, from one culture to another, from one way of thinking to another. For thousands of students and alumni, this international experience is part of everyday life at SKEMA. Since its foundation, the school has built a model based on encounters, the exchange of ideas, and dialogue across disciplines. As this reality has continued to grow, one question emerged: did the SKEMA brand still fully reflect what the school had become and what it aspired to represent in the years ahead?
The new identity unveiled today stems from that reflection. It does not mark a break with the past. Instead, it gives stronger expression to a reality already experienced every day by thousands of students, alumni, professors, and staff members across the world.
One idea at the heart of the project: connecting worlds, opening the world
To address this challenge, SKEMA chose listening before positioning by launching a broad consultation across its communities. Over several months, students, alumni, professors, staff members, and governance representatives shared their vision of the school, their expectations, and their perceptions of what makes it unique. One strong conviction emerged from this collective effort: opening the world. Beyond its international footprint,
SKEMA is a place where paths, perspectives, and ways of thinking intersect, often creating connections that might never have happened otherwise.
This ability to create meaningful connections has become one of the school's defining strengths. It can be seen in its multicampus journeys, entrepreneurial initiatives, and academic experiences, as well as in its commitment to bringing together different approaches, cultures, and perspectives to deepen understanding of the world.
World-Minded: more than a tagline
This vision is now expressed through SKEMA’s new signature: World-Minded.
The phrase goes beyond international presence. It describes a way of thinking and acting. Being World-Minded means recognizing that openness to the world begins with openness to others, to new ideas, and to the changes shaping our time.
It means looking beyond the obvious and moving forward with discernment. It means accepting that understanding emerges through dialogue, that learning takes shape through human encounters, and that today’s challenges require perspectives that go beyond traditional boundaries.
At a time when higher education institutions increasingly resemble one another in their messaging, SKEMA has chosen to affirm an identity grounded less in what it claims and more in what it enables people to experience: an understanding of the world built on curiosity, movement, and meaningful human connections.
“SKEMA has become a leading global institution. Its identity now needed to reflect that transformation. This new brand does not simply express who we are today; it reflects what we want to build for the decades ahead: a school that opens the world to its students, unlocks their potential, and prepares them to take action in an increasingly complex environment. This identity is also the result of a collective effort that brought together all of our communities,” said Alice Guilhon, Dean and Executive President of SKEMA.
An emblem for a school in motion
This evolution takes shape through a new emblem designed to support the institution’s international development. The symbol brings together three founding elements: the “S” of SKEMA, the shield shape inherited from the school’s academic tradition dating back to 1892, and a reference to the number five, reflecting the five inhabited continents where the school deploys its model.
Beyond its design, the emblem reflects the evolution of a school built on mobility, exchange, and dialogue across cultures and disciplines. It gives visual expression to SKEMA’s ambition: to build a community that is open to the world and actively engaged with the transformations shaping it.
A story written by SKEMA communities
In the coming weeks, this new identity will appear across campuses, digital platforms, and all of the school’s communication channels. Yet like any strong brand, it will find its true meaning only through the way it is embraced by its community.
Because an identity does not live in a logo. It lives first and foremost in the experiences we share, in the projects we build together, in the initiatives we launch, and in the encounters that shape individual journeys. This emerging identity tells the story of what SKEMA has become. The next chapter belongs to those who bring it to life every day on campuses around the world: its students, alumni, and, more broadly, all of its active communities.
