SKEMA Business School’s EQUIS accreditation renewed for five years
Excellent news: on Tuesday, 13 May 2025, the EFMD (European Foundation for Management Development) announced the renewal of SKEMA’s EQUIS accreditation for the maximum possible period of five years. This distinction reaffirms the school’s position within the highly selective circle of globally multi-accredited business schools.
In its report, the EFMD highlights SKEMA’s full alignment with the EQUIS quality standards. It praises the school’s unique development model, which is financially robust, consistently progressing, and firmly future-oriented.
A recognition of strategic and academic strengths
The auditors particularly commended SKEMA’s strategic foresight, the active involvement of its governance bodies, advisory boards, and business partners. The school was also recognised for its "glocal" model, a blend of global and local which enables students to benefit from an enriched international experience, through a coherent, high-quality programme offering tailored to the specific context of each location.
Other strengths highlighted by EFMD include:
- The strong development of pedagogical innovation, particularly in the integration of artificial intelligence across all programmes.
- A faculty and research management approach based on trust, collaboration, and collective intelligence.
- A dynamic and fast-developing research output, with academic publications and knowledge dissemination tools such as the SKEMA Knowledge website and the ‘Makes Sense?’ podcast.
- A credible commitment to societal and environmental transitions.
- A relevant and impactful executive education offer, co-designed closely with businesses.
A confirmed trajectory towards excellence
“This renewal comes at a pivotal moment for the school, as we are finalising our next strategic plan for 2025–2030. It reinforces our strategic choices and encourages us to continue striving for excellence and differentiation,” commented Alice Guilhon, Dean and Executive President of SKEMA.
Élise Tosi, Vice-Dean of Accreditations, Quality & CSR, also praised “the commitment and professionalism of all the teams whose efforts made this evaluation a collective success.”
A landmark accreditation
SKEMA first obtained the EQUIS accreditation in 2010, just one year after the school’s founding. It was renewed in 2015 and again in 2020. This latest recognition rewards SKEMA’s 15 years of growth and transformation. In addition to EQUIS, the school also holds the AACSB accreditation and EFMD Accredited EMBA status — three prestigious accreditations that place it among the world’s leading multi-accredited institutions.
In France, the school is recognised with the EESPIG label and holds ISO 9001 certification for quality management and ISO 14001 for environmental management. It also holds the Sustainable Development and Social Responsibility (DD&RS) label awarded by CIRSES.
Operating on five continents, SKEMA ensures compliance with local accreditation standards across its nine campuses, which serve as true educational hubs where French, international, and local students converge. The school and its programmes are officially recognised in the United States (Licensing), Brazil (Certificação), China (Ministry of Education recognition), and Dubai (by the Ministry of Education).
With this latest success, SKEMA consolidates its position as a global higher education player: recognised, committed, innovative, and attuned to a changing world.
