2025 Talent Barometer
Careers, inclusion, AI: what makes young people stay (or not stay) in companies. A SKEMA Business School x EY survey, designed in collaboration with Opinionway.
An ambitious and pragmatic generation
Each year, SKEMA Business School and EY analyse the expectations and aspirations of young talents through the Talent Barometer. The 2025 edition, conducted with over 840 students, paints the portrait of a clear-sighted, determined, and demanding generation that is redefining the rules in the job market.
What are their criteria?
- Career growth and salary come first: 96% want opportunities for career evolution, and 48% expect a competitive salary.
- A reassuring and inclusive work environment, without compromising on their ambitions.
- Companies committed to equality and ecology, although ethics is not yet a decisive factor for long-term loyalty.
A challenge for companies
Attracting young talent is no longer enough. Employers must offer a clear career path, compassionate management, and a genuine ability to reinvent themselves. Without that, these young professionals won’t hesitate to move on.
The Talent Barometer 2025 provides key insights to help you understand their expectations and adjust your HR strategy accordingly.
A first glimpse
What do students say?
Meaningful work is a job where I can develop, have an impact and receive fair pay. The myth of a generation that seeks only impact is outdated: we want to get involved in societal issues, but not at any price!
In my view, working in a company that makes people central to its priorities is essential to ensure a sustainable performance. Recognising yourself in your employer’s values gives meaning to work and strengthens employee commitment.
