Coming from Dubai and studying the MSc in Luxury & Fashion Management at SKEMA opened the doors to a world of opportunities for me back in the Middle East where the luxury industry is booming. The MSc balanced the teaching of theory and its practical application perfectly. It was mostly taught by leaders in the industry from a variety of companies such as Gucci, Dior, Vertu, Baume & Mercier, Nike and more. Moreover, we had the opportunity to attend around a dozen professional fairs such as Monaco Yacht Show, SIHH Geneva, Basel World and Luxepack, all of which helped us to better understand the industry that we were dealing with and to develop and expand our networks. We were also responsible for organising a fashion show for the Olympic Committee where a group of us worked to execute the entire show from designing and creation all the way to final presentation on the catwalk. I will be starting my internship in Louis Vuitton during the summer where I will be working in retail operations after undergoing extensive training at the Louis Vuitton Head Office in Paris.
