Corporate Environmental Commitment: A Performance Feedback Approach to Stakeholder Pressures

We explore the relationship between stakeholder pressures and CEC examined through a risk preference lens, informed by performance feedback theory (March & Shapira, 1987, 1992; Greve, 1998). This theory posits that a company’s risk-taking is influenced by available resources and performance relative to aspirations. Thus, we hypothesize that the positive relationship between stakeholder pressures and CEC is moderated by these determinants.
