Alpine skiing: two SKEMA students competing in the Coupe Adhémar in the Alps
Held each year, the Coupe Adhémar brings together students from across France for a weekend of alpine competition. This year, two SKEMA students took to the старт. Among them, Alix Honegger, a first-year Global BBA student on the Lille campus, stood out with a second-place finish in the giant slalom and a third place in the mixed parallel event. Lisa Richard, a Master in Management (PGE) student, secured third place in the giant slalom.
“Representing SKEMA, even far from the mountains”
How did you come to take part in the Coupe Adhémar?
I am from Haute-Savoie and grew up in the mountains. I have been skiing since I was two and a half. When I learnt that the competition was open to other schools, I wanted to represent SKEMA. Even though I now study in Lille, skiing remains part of who I am.
What was the level of competition like?
The Coupe Adhémar brings together around 600 students. Several events are organised, including the giant slalom and the parallel. The giant demands speed and precision. The parallel is more strategic, raced head-to-head. The event combines sporting rigour with a strong collective spirit.
You reached the podium in the giant slalom and in the mixed parallel. What do these results mean to you?
It is a source of pride. I do not hold any specific sporting status at the school and I train mainly during the holidays, when I return home. Reaching the podium in that context makes me want to go further.
Another SKEMA student was also competing.
Yes, Lisa Richard, a Master in Management (PGE) student, finished third in the giant slalom. That means two SKEMA students on the podium. We come from different programmes, which makes it even stronger. Sport builds bridges beyond academic paths. Representing SKEMA together at an event of this scale carries meaning.
How do you balance your studies with sport?
It requires organisation, especially when exams coincide with competitions. I try to plan ahead and use the holidays to train. Skiing gives me balance and discipline, which also help in my studies.
What are your next goals?
I would like to return to competition in a more structured way and complete my instructor qualification so that I can teach during the holidays. Passing on knowledge and staying connected to others matter to me. Skiing is not only about performance; it shapes a mindset.
