Executive Education: yoga module integrated into a certified management programme delivered with Oracle
What if yoga could help managers make better decisions, listen more attentively and navigate complex situations with greater composure? That is one of the initiatives explored by Oracle and SKEMA Business School Executive Education through a tailor-made certified programme designed for Oracle managers, where a yoga session was incorporated into the curriculum as a tool to support managerial posture and refocusing.
Delivered over twelve training days, the programme aims to strengthen several core management skills: setting a clear framework for collective action, driving individual and team performance, adapting communication during key managerial moments, fostering a feedback culture and supporting teams in complex working environments. The programme was co-designed by the teams at SKEMA Executive Education and Oracle, with the involvement of Caroline Elbaz, Senior HR Director and Board Member at Oracle France.
Throughout the programme, participants work on topics including the evolving role of managers, goal setting, performance reviews, decision-making, conflict management, coaching, team leadership and the legal fundamentals of management. Two masterclasses also complement the programme, focusing on new managerial approaches and crisis management.
“Through this module, we wanted to give managers the opportunity to step back through a sporting activity and work on their energy management, body awareness and concentration. This yoga session is designed to foster grounded leadership and more composed decision-making. In a context shaped by accelerating transformation and growing complexity, it stands out as a key moment in the training programme,” explains Anne Sarrat, Pedagogical Engineering Manager – Executive Education.
A moment of refocusing within the management journey
Within this framework, an Ashtanga yoga module was integrated into the programme as a moment of refocusing ahead of the final presentation. Open to all participants, the 45-minute session combined breathing exercises, targeted stretching and simple postures that can be applied in day-to-day professional life.
The aim was to help managers strengthen emotional regulation, improve concentration during interactions, develop non-verbal communication and manage their energy over the long term.
