The SKEMA Business School Grand Paris Campus campus will host the international congress of the European Fair Play Movement on 4 December 2026, this year dedicated to the theme Sport, the Spirit of Humanity: Protecting the Sport Person. A call for abstracts is now open to researchers, academics and doctoral candidates from a wide range of disciplines.

Organised in partnership with the European Fair Play Movement, a European organisation committed to promoting fair play, ethics and respect in sport, this scientific gathering will bring together specialists at the Grand Paris campus to examine the place of the human dimension in contemporary sporting practice.

SKEMA Publika is supporting the organisation of the event, hosted at the Grand Paris campus in connection with the work of the SKEMA Centre for Global Risks, with the involvement of Yvan Coste-Manière, professor of marketing at SKEMA Business School and member of the executive board of the European Fair Play Movement, and Rodolphe Desbordes, director of the research centre and professor of economics.

Artificial intelligence and mental health in sport on the agenda

In a context shaped by technological change, geopolitical tensions and new governance issues, the congress aims to explore the challenges faced by athletes, coaches, referees, volunteers and, more broadly, everyone involved in sport. Discussions will address themes such as athlete protection, mental health, integrity, equality, artificial intelligence, and the balance between performance and wellbeing.

A broad call for papers

Submissions may come from a wide range of disciplines, including sport management, law, sociology, philosophy, economics, political science, medicine and technology. Abstracts, written in British English, must contain between 300 and 350 words and should be sent before 30 June 2026 to Thierry Zintz, professor at UCLouvain, who is coordinating the scientific review process.

Selected papers will be presented orally during the congress, with the prospect of publication in a volume edited by SKEMA Publika.
